The pest control industry is rapidly changing and expanding. Many people have a conception that pest control is when am exterminator just stops by, sprays toxic chemicals on bugs and leaves. However, there is a lot more involved that most people do not realize. Pest Management Professionals (or PMP’s must have several skills to be successful. Such as:

• Inspection – must be able to investigate to identify specific pests and conducive conditions that lead to pest problems.

• Entomology/Biology – must be a student to identify pest species and their behaviors.

• Problem Solving – must be able to formulate a plan to effectively solve pest issues and maintain pest levels.

• Communication – must be able to deal with people, provide education, customer service and sales.

• Documentation – must have the ability to write down all of the information from the inspection, identification and service to provide a report to our customers and various agencies.
