Fleas

Flea problems in homes are on the rise due to chemical resistance in fleas. The first step in eliminating or preventing flea infestations is to make sure that your pet is treated by flea medication or shampoos that are recommended by your vet. Be sure to follow the label instructions for these treatments if you do them yourself. Topical treatments to pets are beginning to have less of an effect despite recent successes. Fleas can invade homes even if you do not have pets. People who have bad infestations that require an exterminator will not have problem identifying a flea infestation. If you suspect that you have an infestation but you are not sure; you can test for them by using the following trick. Just place a small dish of water or rubbing alcohol on the floor under a nite lite or lamp. This should be in an area where you suspect activity. Leave this out over night and check the next morning. You may need to do this in multiple locations. If all else fails, call us and we will test for you!
